2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class Review: Models, Engine, Pricing, and Features

The 2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class has received a full facelift, inside and out, giving the 5-passenger executive class Mercedes a sporty figure, and a lower price than the 2009 models. The 2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class sedans are available as the E350, the E350 4MATIC, the E350 BlueTEC, the E550, and the E500 4MATIC.2010 e350 coupe interior cdc.jpg
The 2010 Mercedes E-Class features bold styling that separates it from the previous generations of the E-Class.  The double-housing headlights have returned, but the friendly, round lights found on the previous E-Class sedans have been replaced with more angular, aggressive headlights. The aesthetic changes to the 2010 E-Class give the car a much sportier look, but more importantly the sleek new form gives the E-Class sedans a drag coefficient of just 0.25, making it the most aerodynamic car in its class.  Many of the design cues appear to be taken from the S-Class models, with the low rear roofline are and the long sweeping rear glass.

Inside, the 2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class features everything that you would expect in one of the top luxury brands in the world.  High tech safety gadgets like Attention Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Main Beam Auto Adjust make the car much more secure in the dark or in bad weather, and the state of the art sound system rivals any standard audio system available in the world.

The 2010 E-Class sedans offer a variety of different engines. The E350 models, whether rear wheel drive models or the 4MATIC all wheel drive models, are powered by a 3.5L V6 making 268 horsepower and 258lb-ft of torque. The E350 BlueTEC features a V6 diesel engine, which offers just 211 horsepower, but this super clean diesel is set to meet 2014 emission standards around the world. If youre more interested in performance than future emissions, the 2010 E550 has you covered. The E550 models are powered by a 5.5L V8, offering 382 horsepower and 391lb-ft of torque. All of the rear wheel drive 2010 E-Class sedans are equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission, and when mated to the 5.5L V8, the 2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class is capable of dashing from 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. Sports car like performance in a state of the art luxury car, and the fuel economy isn't too terrible - rated at 15 around town and 22 on the highway.

The Mercedes Benz E-Class sedan has been a top selling model for the German luxury brand for decades, and the 2010 E-Class will only improve the reputation of the mid level sedans from Daimler.

Performance was not radically advanced. The interior and amenities, already so high, didn't take a huge leap. It's a new E-Class, but are you excited? Was it the new look you were looking for? Which was your favorite E-Class? Will it be this one?
