2009 Mercedes-Benz C350 vs. 2009 BMW 335

By -

The battle between the 2009 Mercedes Benz C 350 and the 2009 BMW 335 i is one of class front-runners. Each represents an entry-level luxury car that can get around at pace while catering to your space requirements.  Pricing and a difference of opinions will probably be all you need in choosing between these “quality-twins”.

The 2009 Mercedes Benz C350 is on the market for a flat rate of $39,000 and offered in only one trim, the Sport package – lacking the optional “Luxury” trim available on the 2009 Mercedes Benz S300, which sets aside power to concentrate on delivering extra comfort. With that said, an uncomfortable Mercedes Benz is almost unheard of. Furthermore, the Mercedes Benz C350 benefits from the extra storage space that every Mercedes receives.

The 2009 BMW 335i contends with a burst of power, 300bhp under the bonnet; sending it well ahead of  the 2009 Mercedes Benz C350, producing 268bhp. It is surprisingly efficient on the open road where the full extent of its power can be utilized, compared to the city driving average of 21mpg. The fuel economy and the off-the-lot price of over $40,000 can still make one flinch. Earlier C-Class entrants may have allowed one to consider paying extra for the added power of the BMW 335i, but all that changes up against the Mercedes Benz C350.

Baby steps, we’re pitting the 335i against better and better Mercedes models. Arguably the 335i can be overrated — especially at that price — but then which Mercedes model truly is its match — in good ways and bad?
