2009 Mercedes Benz C350 vs. 2009 Mercedes Benz C300

The extra half a liter of engine size on the 2009 Mercedes Benz C350 gives it an edge on power over the 2009 Mercedes Benz C300. The similarities: 7-speed gearboxes on the automatic version of both along with standard rear-wheel drive. The C 300 is also available as an all-wheel drive and, in its Sport package, a 6-speed manual transmission.

What may disappoint some about the 2009 Mercedes Benz C300 is an underwhelming presence of power. The C300 will do the job in terms of getting you from A to B, but if there are lots of winding roads between A and B you will feel a bit of a drag on the steering as the engine tries to haul it along. The 2009 Mercedes C350 does not have the same difficulty, but then it also does not offer a Luxury trim -- something had to give.

If you want the power, then, you 2009 Mercedes Benz C350 is the more attractive choice. Remember, though, that what you gain in growl you may lose in purr. Equally, by picking the Luxury trim 2009 Mercedes Benzf C300, you will need to do a bit of the work yourself when you come off the freeway and cruising becomes less of an option.

Pitting brothers can sometimes be a good thing. We all experience it at the dealership: the 350 or the 300? When you go to buy a new Mercedes, which one sways you? Is there even a reason for Mercedes to keep one of these two C-Classes?
