wipers stuck on need help new to mb

I recently bought a 92 190e 2.3 with some issues as i have worked on many domestic vehicles and very complex diesel engines i thought i should give this nice car a 2nd chance since it was headed to the crusher anyway i have most of the issues resolved but the windshield wipers wont stop, the speed will change with the switch but wont go off unless i pull the fuse any ideas??

I got the same problem with my 16V and it was the wiper control itself. try changing it. should be no more than $35 at ebay

do you mean the black relay under the hood or the control switch on the column???
