Which hood pad should I buy?

Hello all,

I want to replace the hood pad on my 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.6

I've found a bunch for sale on car parts wholesale:

http://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.co...005+4419&Nty=1

I'm not sure which one to purchase. Besides the difference in price, they seem to be for different chassis numbers; how would I find my chassis number so I know which one to buy?

Thanks!

EDIT: Actually, I have no idea what those Fxxxxxxx numbers are that the website lists, because my chassis number should be something like 201.029 right?

It's not the number that your chassis starts with . . . it's what series of numbers that it ends with that matters. Mercedes, like other car makers, tries to impliment production changes and improvements with the "Model Year" (MY), however sometimes changes are made at different times when vendors change or there is an immediate engineering change made in the design.

Your chassis number, including the serial number of the chassis, is stamped in various places of the car, including the firewall and on the ID plate on the driver's door sill.

ok, well yeah, I realize that, but what I'm saying is that if I want to purchase the correct one, I need to know which Fxxxxxxx whatever number I have, and I don't even know what that is

You could write down the chassis number . . . send it along with your order, so that they send you the right one.

On the W201, the chassis serial number is stamped into the firewall, on the exhaust side, where it curves to accommodate the battery and electrics.

It should also be on the driver's door sill ID plate. It is a different number than the VIN.

scrape the old stuff off... then use spray-on bedliner instead of the foam
