Lookin at a 16v

Theres one for sale cheap but it has A LOT of miles on it cough260kcough. It is however a one owner and veryyy clean inside and out. Id just like to refreshen my 190 knowledge and you guys could help. i dont remember when abouts the timing chain should be replaced, how long does the stock 5 speed tranny usually hold up, these cars have headgasket issues at high mileage like 202s, and any other **** i should beware of? how long these engines usually last? if anyone knows of any 16vs in or around new england for cheap let me know. Im at college, bored, the AMGs in my garage, need to stop driving my F250 guzzler, have too much time on my hands, and want something to work on.

talked to the mechanic(owned a cosworth 190) and he said if the car was well cared for then at 260k it should still run strong and the motor is like the amg m104 being indestructable. owner said at 210k the engine got new rings, new valve job, and "freshed up the motor." Thinking i might have to see the car in person, (looks like a one owner should, perfect exterior and interior in pictures) and make an offer. i will find my cosworth project soon

yeah im tryin to go either friday before the AMG fest or sunday after it.

My unlce, who used to repair Mercedes-Benzs for a dealership has emphasized the fact that aslong as the engine seems to run smoothly, the mileage doesn't really matter unless its 400+. He also said the 190s are near bulletproof
