Driver's Door Lock Stopped Working

The central locking system on my daughter's '93 190E was working perfectly until recently.

Now, when she tries to lock it from the driver door nothing happens at all. Yet, the passenger door and trunk both still work to lock the entire car.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ed

probably the lock actuator. both of mine are dead. id check the vacuum hoses first though. pump some air into the line that goes into the pump under the rear passenger sides side and see if it hold the psi, if it doesnt just find the leak

190 drivers door lock

I had the same problem with my '93 and I replaced the door lock which solved the problem. By now though you probably have already solved it too!

I have the same problem as well on my '93. My dad fixed it cause the wires broke that connected to the lock. It broke again after 3 years. Not bad for a jury rig job. So just gotta find time to open the door panel and do it again.

My daughter has had the car away at college. She'll be back this week, and I'll try to take a look at it if it's not too cold.

I may be back in touch with you gents when I tackle this project. Are there any diagrams of the door's insides on the net?

Cheers,
Ed

Once you remove the panel replacing the door lock mechanism is pretty straight forward.
