I wonder wha the new 07/08 G55K will make with the same mods? since they come with 500 crank HP from the factory..

..........care needs to be taken in interpreting dyno HP figures. As has been said before, its use is many to check for delta after modifications are done. The ultimate test is at the drags strip. My G55 had a baselind dyno of 392AWHP. After the K4, it dynoed at 491AWHP on the same dyno by the same tech. This rep;resents a pretty impressive gain of 100AWHP which was eventually proven at the track with a 12.7 sec run at the 1/4 mile.

........The drive drain loss in a rear wheel drive automatic such as a W211 E55 is about 18%. That of a 4wheel drive SUV is not know but probably upwards of 25%. Therefore, the WHP dyno figures for a W211 E55 and that of a G55K with the same mods will be expected to be different. Having said that 491WHP is in the upper part of normal for K4 mods even with a W211 E55. There are some but not many AMGV8K's with 500WHP, and those will not be expected to be SUV's with higher drive train losses. There is alsoi not much difference in power between a K2 annd a K4. The power is made at K2. K3 and K4 don't really add any more measurable Hp but modulate how your car uses the HP.

..........As for the new G55K. The engine is the same as the 05. The additional 18WHP or 24 crank HP was derived from ECU modification by Mercedes. So it is probably nothing different from buying an 05 G55K and get an aftermarket ECU only. And if you get a K4, that ECU mod comes with the package.

.........Back to topic. The twin turbo version of the SRT8 is absolutely amazing. One such car by Hennessey Performance Engineering ran a 12.2 in the 1/4 mile.

.........If you like to mod your car, the ML63 is at a disadvantage. At least for now, there are no easy mods. This might change soon.
