That sounds incredible. Bay Area dealers are sticking to the MSRP story. I doubt they will budge. Their pain is so deep they would rather not sell cars than make less than MSRP. Without the profit boost from new models sold at MSRP they will go bankrupt. They are barely hanging on with used car profits and service. High margin new car sales is their only chance of survival. Germany is cutting back production to equal demand. So I seriously doubt there will be much competition. The car is already marked down on MSRP from last year. My sense of it is that M-B will go back to an economic model of producing fewer cars at higher margin until the market shows the ability to absorb higher sales. They are not going to build for inventory like the old days.
I am focusing on 2 things: what free accessories can I wrangle and how amyn services can I get for free.
