I had trouble with the color too, and (of course) the black shows dirt and chips much more than some of the other colors. But the dirt is easy to deal with--take it through the wash when you fill up!

Something about the black always gets comments from people about "how clean" the car looks (even when I think it's dirty). It just looks great all the time, I think because the famous Mercedes "fit and finish" really shows up more with the darker colors (contrast with the lights and the trim).

I have the grey interior in my C280. I thought I'd like the black interior, but I drove a few, and it felt oppressive and dark (plus the dust and dirt shows up on the inside the way it shows up on the outside, only you live inside the car, so it's always there) so I went with the grey and I'm glad I did. It's just brighter inside, more cheery than the black. The color scheme with the redwood trim is really nice with the grey too, but it's really a matter of personal choice.

I would go with the 06 for the reasons above--more warranty, newer equipment, 6 cylinder, etc and I don't think the Kompressor (last year was 05 if I'm not mistaken) gives you enough of a boost to make it worthwhile (a good friend of mine has an '05 C230 Kompressor and it's just not that fast). Also, I'd rather have a bigger engine than a booster any day.

Good luck--you really can't go wrong either way!
