The V really is a detuned 650HP motor. And the suspension is detuned to accomodate normal people. The tires are detuned racing slicks.

I understand your point, but I don't think you understand mine.
Would you agree that there's a variance with every engine that is assembled regardless of vehicle or manufacturer? Would you also agree that the variance of the 6.3 AMG engine in
stock form is a reported 65 to 70hp? Would it be possible for a C63 engine to have that big a variance? Possibly.
I think Mercedes/AMG made a decision that had nothing to do with performance, longevity, ride comfort, emissions, service, warranty, etc.
