Amplified stock antenna in a standard radio 06 C230?
I have an aftermarket radio (actually a car pc) and have never been able to get FM reception. I have read on several threads that my model may have an amplified antenna that would need to be powered. Can anyone confirm and if so what color is the wire? I gave up awhile back but now want to get fm working again for HD radio. thanks

You should have your FM antenna integrated to the rear window, this antenna would always need an amplifier. The power may come from the head unit or from the rear SAM, if you subscribe to startek info you can download the necessary wiring diagrams. Someone here might also spend a bit time and find it for you.

I found a wiring diagram for the command head unit (I had just the standard single CD player). It lists a pin 05 + 12 for an automatic antenna. I would think that would be like a power up and down antenna, any thoughts?

The "power antenna" signal does activate the FM antenna amplifier. Depending on the car, this is done directly or via the rear SAM.

So I assume I will need to power this wire in the front dash with an ignition 12v source? I want FM reception but I dont want to blow anything in the process.
