Weird Noise
I recently started hearing noise from underneath my car. It sounded like it's coming somewhere the springs and shocks.
It sounded like a metal being hit by a wooden stick specially when I pass by rough roads. It's kind of hard to describe the exact sound but that's the closest one I can describe it to. |

just an update, now I know what the noise is, my bushings have gone bad and the weird noise I was hearing was metal hitting metal each other.

Glad to hear you solved the issue! Make sure whoever installs the new bushings puts plenty of lube on everything down there to prevent the new and old ones from drying out and going bad.

I had a problem with this too. Saw in a thread that it's the lower ball joint typically, so I replaced mine for both of my '95 & '96 C220 and it solved the squeaky, grinding noise. The noise usually happens when it's hot, in the winter, nothing. Easy to replace, but if you can't, the parts are like under $30 for a pair of ball joints.

when they installed the bushing, we looked at everything and most of the parts are still good. it was just the bushing that went bad. everything is good now. But if i hear something weird again, I'll consider your suggestion. thanks.
