6000K HID's
Just to put it short, i won a set of HIDs from HMS, a sponsor at Saprissa's nov. 15th meet.
I was going to install them yesterday and take night pictures, but there was a fire REALLY close to my house, so it would be really ****ty if i was only halfway done and i was forced to evacuate. So i waited til morning when it was a little better, and threw them on. I got 6000k because it is my first set of HID lights and i didn't want a crazy big change at the moment. I had the option of 8000k too but it seemed a little bit too bright for my main lights. Either way, i installed them about 3 hours ago, and here are some pics: tell me what you think! btw, this was taken during daytime with alot of light already existing, so they dont look as good as they possibly could. :[ I'll take better pictures later on during the week when i actually have time to do it right. Stock: ![]() Half Switch, left HID, right stock: ![]() Converted: ![]() haha btw in the last picture i didnt mount the ballasts yet, i just wanted to make sure they were working. Opinions and criticism NECESSARY and appreciated from you guys please! I'd like to know what you think of them. Thanks.

Good thing you stayed with 6000k and not 8000k. That number measures the light temperature, which is the color.
8000k would not have been as bright, but more blue in color, which looks bad on these cars. 6000k is a good white color that gives good visibility and fits the car. Last edited by Untertürkheim; 11-17-2008 at 05:59 AM. |

my mistake, i meant intensity.
At the time i thought 8000k would really hurt my eyes for extended use, so i went with the one easier on the eyes :P

Actually, thats what happens for the first 20 seconds when i turn on my headlights now. Theres a slight difference in color, probably because of that, hahaha
But afterwards the colors balance out. And are you sure you wont get pulled over with purple headlights? We all know how cali cops are... zzzzzz @$$holes sometimes =[

I got a simple plug and play HID kit. It's a relatively easy DIY. I don't have too much time for a complete write up, but i can give some quick instructions:
1. Remove the original H7 Bulbs 2. Connect the ballast wiring to the bulb (you cant really miss it, they fit or they dont belong to each other lol) 3. Connect the other side of the ballast wiring to the wire that connected to the original H7 bulbs, yellow is positive, brown is negative. REMEMBER THAT, IMPORTANT LOL 4. You're basically done :P SEXAY!
