The problem won't be a vacuum leak, it will be a non-functioning check valve in the system. I would just go to a auto parts store and buy a small check valve and put it on the vacuum line from the manifold. problem solved.

And that's it? Will this new check valve then take over the function of the non-functioning check valve? .. Sounds too easy to me :-)
