35 posts to replace a battery and a 20 minute fix, more time spent at the keyboard than actually doing something about it. And how many days sitting on jack stands? Gaaaawwwd! Any auto parts store can test a battery for free...... unless you live in the wilds of Africa.

Of course where Glyn live looks more like the Malibu of Africa than the wilds.
They charge him $50 just for being such an 'old tart'.

26 posts just to get around to charging it.
And at least 15 posts lamenting the lack of basic tools, without so much as checking the voltage.

And you wonder why I was sitting and eating popcorn.....Duh.. dude, can I sell you a clue?
The automotive forum equivalent to: "I've fallen and I can't get up!"
For gods sake people, before you post, use the SEARCH button, this has been covered 3 thousand times,
and try doing some basic stuff before a running to your keyboard little billy.

When you say good red wine, you mean Ripple, eh Glyn?
I paid 100 bucks out the door for a battery.
I had been monitoring it's demise courtesy of the local
"Batteries Plus" only to then purchase a new battery from Kragens, which
actually was an Autolite.

I enjoyed a good view this evening at a little soiree I attended, overlooking Santa Cruz and the entire Monterey bay.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, the view while not belonging to me, belongs to a land developer friend who owns a few Benz's. Fortunately because I was on the short list of invitees.
And yes, we enjoyed good wine. Or, well at least somewhat Mediocre wine.
Truely great wine starts at around 40 a bottle.
I'd guess there wasn't anything over $20.
But I certainly didn't refuse.
1st pic below I took off the deck of a nearby house last year...didn't bring my camera this time...
the other 2 with my camera phone, last year.

I think I saw the pic you posted online Glyn, not taken by you eh?

Just to make sure it was only the battery you should be measuring your battery for drain. I found that with bad seat modules the drain varies (I had two bad sets!!). As long as the car was driven for a while it always started the next morning. But when weekends came it would die by Sunday. Or you could just take your chances and wait to see if it will die at the worst time. Or not

Monterey County is fabulous. Been to the Pebble Beach Concours a number of times & eaten at good restuarants around the bay.
