Still waiting for info on the CLK fitment..

Have no clue on the H/K..But dont think it will work..Read the W211 thread on this retrofit..They deal alot with the H/K problem.

So what did you do? You already put in a cluster from a MOST based car (which you said you swapped the conroller [interfaces] from the BLACK gauges to the SILVER gauges (as the photo does not look different) - As the w211 was the first to introduce the MOST system in MY 2003, and the w/s/cl203 were upgraded to MOST in MY 2004 (April/May).

Unless you put the w211 gauges and silver panel into the w209 frame, hood and controller...??? Which should all be MOST as you installed facelift parts...

How can you "Reprogram to MOST?" as MOST is the evoluton of the Fiber Ring with the electric wake up signal that is NOT exclusive to M-B? MOST is a vehicle communication system that connects the audio system to other vehicle networks and componets...MOST is Media Oriented System Transport...How do you just "Reprogram that?"

It was a W211 silver panel and dails I put in a W209 D2B cluster. Then I tried the W211 cluster that is MOST in the car and damn it all worked.

It is possible that the W209 cluster cant be programed to be MOST..I heard one say it could..But if not I just get a W211 or newrer W209 cluster and do the fitting with..I have bought a Star Diagnostic now so I can play with it my self.

Two words: Breakthrough Discovery!

Maybe I'm missing something here, so let me get this straight...

You swaped and upgraded the center console controls (Upper Row functions, 2.5 Comand & HVAC unit) along with an 03 W209 cluster and everything was plug and play, except the steering wheel buttons, fuel gauges and mileage. The only aditional parts were a couple of brackets.

Then, in order to solve the programming issue and the total functionality of the steering wheel buttons and the correct parameters for the gauges and mileage, you swaped it back to an 03 W211 cluster?

Again, if this is that simple, you are an instant legend here.

One last thing -

Does the W203 NTG unit (I'm assuming you used the unit from the new c class coupe that's being sold in Europe) you used have voice command?

If so, does it use the VCS stalk or some other method of activation?

Question though... you're in Europe, and the new CLC is only sold in Europe (if I recall correctly?), so for us in North America, this may not work...

Because that comand is APS, ie, only works with Euro discs (unless we can hack a disc together). Also, the region code won't be correct for us to watch DVDs.

I'd like to see someone in North America do this mod.. I think we can assume three things:
1) No nav unless you hack it
2) No dvd playback unless you hack it
3) Same issue with AM channel spacing as with the w203 comand

Correct me if I'm wrong on this... no seriously please do, I'd love to be wrong

I don't remember the details on this, but I think they mention it in depth on the E class forums. I believe it's a simple setting change and everything works properly with these units in North America. I guess you would need the proper map disk to upload to the hard drive.

As far as I know that is corect..This units sits in many more models that also sell in the US like the G and b class and SL class and so on so maps are no problem. Region coding I am not sure about but know the NTG 2.5 guys over at the W211 forum have all this figured out...

You can still do the facelift though with the Audio APS 20 and Comand NTG 2

1&2) with ntg2 it was possible to use the euro comand in US, making a hybrid dvd disc, with euro software and US maps, there is a thread about this.
In the NTG2.5 could be more simple, since the units are almos identical, like in the W204, and its possible to change parameters via comand or Star DAS.

I'm pretty sure the hybrid disk for the ntg 2 is a completely different animal. This COMAND unit uses hard drive based maps but can be updated via (a completely different) DVD.

Is this the same unit on the 2009/10 G550? If so, couldnt one just get that from a dealer here and just plug it in no problem? (we already know the 2008 unit works!)
