That would be a much better solution for us in NA. Unfortunately the dealer price on that is prob about $3000... and finding a used G-Class nav is rare.

$3000 actually sounds a bit cheap for a MB dealer..Over here it is almost twice that much at the dealer.

hello
as i'm new in here i'm really interested in this awesome work! what a great job! ![]() i have to c-classes, one before the facelift and one after, so i know the differences between the headunits and also want to switch! in my 2001 c-class the comand 2.0 has other plugs and cables than the comand aps in the 2004 model (should be the same plugs and cables to the harddrive comand aps you used)...i've always read that everything just goes plug & play. i have nearly all the parts i need from the facelift model but i don't want to buy the comand aps if it won't work... here are two pics with (not mine - i have it from the net) comand 2.0 and comand aps backs: they have some cables that don't fit, e.g. gps... please help me! ![]() cheers mario |

No..Need a new W209 cluster for that...I dont get anything to work in a W211 cluster..Only conection failure..So dont understand how you got yours to work? Low battery warnings and so on..

That's why I was wondering.
I don't have a W211 one, I have an 03 W209 CLK cluster with everything working except mileage (it reads 999999). |

So here is the write up:
Facelifting for 2001-2004: NOTE: First of all this is for cars without a Soundsystem. I think it can work on a analog Bose system with re-wireing but not a Digital one? Mine is without any Bose. You need: 1. Plastic inner frame to mount it all to. Old one is useless. 2. Upper UCP. Any CLK/C-class and G-class unit can be used. For Wagon you need the G-class UCP to get the working rear wiper switches. This is almost plug n play. All you need is to change the conector. The cables are located at the same place in the conector though. If you have the option heated seats the conector is the same. Plug n play. No programing needed for step 2. 3. Lower AC/Clima unit. Analog or digital. Both are plug n play. Same conector and all. No programing needed for step 3. 4. Upper and lower wood panels. 5. Head unit of your choise. Any one is fine. Here you might have to program the cluster if it is not programed before for Navi Comand. 6. Adaper cable so you can connect old connector to the new. (Bluetooth antenna and mic needed if you get Comand NTG 2.5) 7. Fakra GPS antenna if you didnt have Navi before. NOTE: You will lose all D2B units like cd-changer and phone on this facelift. With these parts you have it all working like it should except for the wheel buttons and info in the cluster. To make this work you need a MOST cluster retrofit. Cluster Retrofit for 2002-2004: 1. You need a "NEW" W209 CLK cluster from 2005-2009.NOT W211. This is a must if you want to make the MOST wheel buttons and cluster info to work. Much work and the W209 cluster dont fit 100%. It is a bit smaller than the W203 cluster. So some small gaps will apear. It needs to be new to be able to program the right ODO. If you dont care about that you can use a used one. This have to be programed. Cluster Retrofit for 2001-11/2001: 1. You need a "NEW" W209 CLK cluster from 2005-2009. NOT W211. 2. You need 2 new fuel pumps with the new MAPS sensors to make the fuel gauge to work like it should. Needs programing to rear SAM. Other than that it is the same as the above cluster retrofit. Facelifting for 2005-2008: NOTE: First of all this is for cars without a Soundsystem. I think it can work on a analog Bose system with re-wireing but not a Digital one? 1. Headunit of your choice. 2. Adapter cable from NTG2 to NTG2.5 if you make this retrofit. (Bluetooth antenna and mic needed if you get Comand NTG 2.5) Might need some programing to the cluster if you didnt have Navi before. 7. Fakra GPS antenna if you didnt have Navi before. Facelifting for CLK W209 2002-2008 Same as above except there is no fitting NTG 2.5 for CLK. The W203 unit is to big to fit. If you want any help to get these parts and cant find them with the forum sponsors just let me know and I help. Here is the video.. A bit blurry but the best I could do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-R2QEy5ass

Yes that is the problem..The faceligt W203 cluster wont fit at all just like the W211 and in my opinion not as cool looking as the sport W209.... To much difference.
What you want? A New one or an old one? D2B or MOST? km/h or miles I think I can help you there.
