The top of the interior door handle on the right side has pulled out of the socket several times. Am assuming it's cracked where the screw goes through at the top and going to replace the handle. Found the part here: http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/inde...layCatalogid=0

I'm just not sure of the color. They have listed: java, anthracite, quartz, pacific blue, and orion gray. Is there somewhere to find what these colors look like or a way to tell interior color codes from the VIN? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

cars.com or call you local dealer give them your vin and ask what your color is

Good plan - The USA does not stick to the Benz international colour names for paint or interior.

Thanks. I'm afraid cars.com wasn't much help since they don't list OEM interior co;lors with a color palet. The dealer said it might be artico gray (which isn't listed as an option) but he wasn't sure. They did give me a color code of 158. I'll seach that to see what I can find.

I found the color via the Russian MB club web site. A little frustrating that the local dealer had it wrong but someone half way around the world got it right!

Interior colour code should also be listed:
- on your data card (in your binder of owners manuals and other booklets)
- on a plate on your door jam or under the hood

It would also be helpful if we knew your vehicle's paint colour (did I just open another can of worms?),... then a member with that year and exterior paint colour could tell you your interior colour.

I did find a plate on the hood that listed a bunch of numbers but I don't have a clue what they mean. There is also a piece of paper in the binder that has what looks like the same numbers. However, there is no key or indication what these numbers are referencing. Even if I knew the color codes, the web site above doesn't reference numbers but the names of the colors. And as Glyn M Ruck pointed out, it appears that the US dealers don't stick to the same color code since I was given a different color name from a dealer.

In any case, the Mercedes-Benz Club Russia was able to decode the VIN which has the interioer and exterior colors listed as well as all the other options. If there's somewhere else to get the information, I'd sure appreciate someone letting me know.

The color code 158 for the interior ended up being Orion Gray. The exterior color is black.

Sorry if you felt put out that I didn't give you more of a chance, but I allready had the answer before you replied. Thanks for trying to help.

The next time you swing by your Mercedes dealership parts department,... show them that postcard like piece of paper with all the numbers on it that you found in your binder or just your VIN and ask for a "datacard" which will list all the numeric codes you have on that postcard like piece of paper in your binder and translate it into colour, options, features, packages, etc,... It list all your factory options and some dealer option,... I say "some" because mine has CD changer at delivery but its not listed, yet heated seats which were added after delivery are listed.

BTW,... for 2002 there was 4 shades of black exterior,...

Im getting nuts is it just a Grey?
One tone is a type of grey and the other half of my interior almost white I just need the colour of the steering wheel leather, matching of course but how even the steering wheel leather guys am not sure they can deliver now
they sent me loan wheel, dark grey, I sent back my mine for colour match and they reshape and cover new leather Sport look.
Normally they just make it ship it and you ship your own back and done..


anyone can help me here I be crazy grateful for the smallest help, my interior is really well taken care of, not baked, cracked or looking bad..
Wood trim: black marble all well taken care of...
yearly maintained like the rest of the car...
