Hey, itvinec32, I like those red rear calipers. Are you the one who wrote in about painting them? Did you use the brake caliper paint?

i posted the painted pictures on another board before. no, i did not use a kit. i just used red engine paint, $3. a can of brake cleaner, $2, and a brush, $.50.
if you use the epoxy kit, you have paint it in one sitting, because it will harden soon after you mix it. this way, it is cheap and i still have the can for future touch-up's. like when the guy who intalled my wheels dinged it up. no problem. just a little touch up fixes that. the wheels are 18 inch lorinser LM5 replica's. $950 for the set. certainly worth the gamble. ![]() close up of the calipers: |

Hey, bajaiman, like those AMG wheels on your C200 - do you have both cars now (C200 and C32)?
Is that your real license plate? If so, don't "designer plates" cost big bucks? I know in England you have to practically wait until somebody dies to get a plate like that. Even here in the U.S. it owuld be difficult to get one - someone else probabaly already has it!

for the calipers, i used narrow detailing tape to cover up the ///AMG.
if would do it again, i would just paint the whole thing and stencile the ///AMG back in. taping it up has the hardest part of the whole job. as for the wheels, i think the quality is excellent. i found some other LM5 replicas that were about $880, for a set. but the quality was not nearly as good. they weigh 28lbs. (yes, i actually weighed them). I hear that the originals weigh the same. tires are so3's so they weren't cheap. $830 for the set. if you have a c32, the wheels don't really fit the fronts. i am using a custom 12mm spacer and had get a bigger whole bored into the wheel , BIG PAIN.but they will fit the regular c-class fine. |

I ordered the licence plate as soon as we put the order for the C32, Its just my luck really ....maybe when I ordered the plate (October 01) not a lot of people knew about C32 back then. I have to pay additional annual fee for the personalised plate (cost about AU$375 or about US$190)

I just came back from my brother's friend's place and have try to put the rims on the car, with the 18x8.5 et35 and 18x9.5 et38. The front rims although clears the big caliper the inner lip has little space in between the shocks casing. (about this wide--> l...l ) I'm worry that after I put on the tires it will rub against the shocks. The rear definitely works, but has the same problem of having little space in between the wheel wall lining.
The tires I'm looking for are 225/40 and 255/35. I'm wondering what should I do? They don't have 18x8 and 18x9 and I don't want to go to 19's If I get the hub centric spacer how much mm would I need? I'll be posting in the wheel forum as well...any help is much welcome, thanks guys. |

I would try it first before I put on spacers. 8.5" =215.9mm If the tire is 225 then you will have about 4.55 mm sticking over the rim. My guess would l..l instead of the l...l you posted.

I got the replica of Lorinser LM-6.
I think I will order the tires first and mount them and see what happens. even tho the rims are 8.5, the most outer lip is measured at 9.5. So does tha mean the 225 wouldn't stick out up front? |

you're measuring lip to lip.....remember, the bead of the tire fits INSIDE the lip
According to posts from the past, you should be ok with the 8.5/225's up front, rears should pose less of a problem

I finally got my rims on the car today after couple hours after the tech struggle to put the rear tires on the rims. I'm a very happy man now....
I can't say enough how much I like the new look. I'll post some picture tomorrow after I get the car washed. |
