What tire did your car originally come with?

Any difference if its a C350 or C300 or C200?

I got the Michelin Pilot Sports but I noticed some had Continentals as well. I don't think there is a reliable way to know which car will come with which tire...

I have Continental ProContact on my 17" C300.

The 18" AMG all come with Continental SportContact3's.

The 17's whether on the 300 or 350, SA or German build, come with either Michelin Pilot HX's or Conti ProContacts.

Unless you upgraded to the 18" wheels, I believe they just take whatever they have laying around to be honest.... I've seen luxury models and sport models both with continentals and michelins that were all german builds.

For the record, I have michelins and a continental spare! !?!?!?

I was in Germany last year, rented a 220CDI, yes, it was wearing the same rubbers.

Mine will be the 18" AMG, and hoping to get Pilot Sport 2. But I guess CSC3 are good alternatives as well.

I believe that factory option 18" AMG wheels from Germany came with Conti's. If the dealer added the 18's and an Accessory they had an option to go with Contis' or Michelin's. That might be the discrepancy here. Not sure about S.A. build cars and what they came with.

Mine is a German build with factory option 18's and they cam with conti's

S-A May build, ContiPRoContacts. Finding the CPCs noisier by the day. Yes, they are fine -- but the new Pilot Sport A/S Plus I put on my coupe are better and quieter.

My September '07 build C300 came with 17" Contis which were removed before delivery when I bought '18s and installed Bridgestone RE-050As. i sold the unused Contis on Craigslist (with great difficulty) for $275 and glad to get it.

I have the Michelin's on my German built C350, and I am very happy. almost 18,000 miles on them and still almost no sign of wear.

My Sales Rep told me that MB uses either Continental or Michelin for C-class and rarely changes tire brand in the middle of model life cycle - my W203 (US) came with Michelin and I think all W203 shipments to the US had Michelin tire. W204 was equipped with Continental and most likely this brand will remain till we see W205...(in another 7 years). C350 may have different tire vendor though.

When he said "either", he meant "whatever was in stock when they assembled the car". My 204, and plenty of others, has Michelins on it.

Lucky you! I'm not impressed with Continental tire. Too many failures. Never had such experience before...
