How to get wind shield replaced under warranty for FREE.

I called a few dealers about this mystery shape on the glass I have had for over a year now. This shape has finally been mentioned by a few others on this forum recently. The dealers I called said most likely the fix would be to replace the glass, since NO DEALER had any idea what the heck this was....

A good way to find this mystery shape in the glass, if you have not found it yet, is to take your wife/girl friend in the back seat of the car and go at it and get intimate for about 10 minutes... Within about 10 minutes of action, leave the back seat of the car and return to the front seats. Look toward the right center side of the windshield, and you will see a Halo/circle/cross hair shape that did not fog with the rest of the glass...

Why this happens I do not know, but I assume it is a defect in the glass, and a very good excuse to get the glass replaced under warranty.

If those of you have chips in the windshield, lucky you, free replacement...

there is another thread about this called "cross hair" on windshield, apparently this is where the clamp was when the factory installed it

It is some kind of residue left on the glass from a suction cup when they installed the windshield. Better if the entire glass had it, it would not fog up then.......

I've seen pretty odd warranty claims, seen from the European perspective. But you should see the workshop guy in Europe if someone asked "My windshield does not get foggy at every place, I want a new one".

Do C-class cars have some IR shielding like S-class does. It has openings close to the rear view mirror, perhaps something like this makes a difference, if it isn't as simple as a suction cup residue or something like that.

no residue... i took rubbing alcohol to it, goo gone to it, etc...

Still comes back in a PERFECT circle... like not even a bit smudged or anything...

which makes me think it is in the glass, rather than on the glass...

defect = free warranty windshield replacement i am hoping

I'm getting my windshield replaced under warranty cause I have a problem with the skipping windshield wipers. The dealer had replace the wipers twice, adjusted the wiper's arm and also replaced it. But nothing seems to work on the windshield. Then they had this chemical solution that when put onto the windshield, it will removed any sort of contamination to the glass.. but to no avail. problem still there. So they finally had everyone in the tech department look at this problem and finally decided to replace my windshield. Their explanation? windshield might be contaminated while shipping.

i can not believe mercedes has not fixed this yet....if you search under my threads, i had a problem with this for months in late 2005 / early 2006. dealer did everything you mentioned, including replacing the wiper motor. last thing they did was replace the windshield, which worked for a few months...after that, the problem came back...dealer wouldn't do anything about it after that

i thought mb would fix it after three years away from the car market...this is enough to turn me off from the brand..even though i like everything else about the c
