Hi all,

Enjoy the read? What thoughts or memories do you have of the C-Class? How does the current version stack up to previous C-Classes, the other Mercedes series, and other similar vehicles?

C320 CDI 4matic Brabus D6(III), Black.(SOLD). Current - EQE 350 W295
Good work!!

Just one very minor point... when you state "with 16, 24 or 32 Volts" do you mean "with 16, 24 or 32 Valves"?

Sorry to be pedantic.

i like my 06 W203 a lot, i was absolutely in love with it when i bought 4-5 months ago being the first "nice" car i have owned. but slowly i am seeing things i wish were nicer. dont get me wrong, my payment is only 324/month and i dont think you can beat that for the money. i am still happy with my decision, but its just a few small things that bug me and overall i wish the car had a little more leg room in the backseat and more get up and go. its just some of those cheap plastic parts on the inside that could look nicer, the seat belt clips, the door lock pins, etc...

its a good car and i will be happy with it for a couple more years, but i am going to look at an E class (the year before they made those new horrible body style changes) or an AMG C class next. gotta keep moving up, right??

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
My brother just bought an E500 (W211). It is a very nice car, but I like my W204 just as much.

I am not a W204 or W202 fan. I only C Class I enjoy are the W203 and the old 190'S. Those where good cars. The W204 is a very nice car untill you get inside and interior materials look just like a W202.

I've owned two C-class-- '99 C230 and '06 C280 4Matic. Both are great cars, but the 230 was a little weak--the 4 cylinder C230 had great fuel economy, but it taxed the engine too much for acceleration.
I was considering E320 when I bought the C280 and just wasn't convinced that there was enough of an advantage for me to pay the extra for the E320. I don't need a lot of backseat legroom because I rarely drive with any passengers. The C280 was a significant move up in terms of power and comfort, but it was the 4Matic that made it essential for me as a Michigan driver.
I had a C300 as a loaner and it was very nice, but it looked too generic for my tastes, and I couldn't find any significant improvement that would make me consider an upgrade.
C-Class is great value for the money, which is why they sell them in the USA, but they don't sell A-Class or B-Class, nor do they sell the myriad trucks, busses, ambulances, work vans, and other vehicles that are all over the place in Europe and Australia (for example).

C230 to AMG C63 would be one hell of a leap lol!

From what you're saying you'd like, a w204 C300 or C350 would be perfect for you. That or the E-Class of course...

Daimler is likely still the world's largest truck builder. They are everywhere. Sprinter vans are one good example.

I'm still driving our C32 and love it everytime we take it out of the garage. I will most likely keep it forever as it now has just 16000 miles on it. It drives as well or better than our SL55.

Since this old dead thread has been revived, I read through the five parts and found them to be riddled through with technical errors and comical mis-statements.

They appear to have been translated from some other language which may explain some of the nonsense.

BTW, I've owned all of these cars and a few of them were absolute crap.
