Thumbs up FrankW.... Awsome!!!

OK! Now I got to do this!

FrankW... no noticeable resonance? At any RPM?

I’m thinking of the X-Pipe and post cat delete? Wonder if it would be too loud?

What about an H-Pipe? More pulse/thump right? Anyone?

just a slight higher muffler noise from what you would normally hear inside the car.

FrankW, aren't you afraid that your warranty will be voided if any problems happen with the X-Pipe???

FrankW, Your car sounds nice.

For the people that have done the Xpipe, have you serviced your car at the dealer since this mod and what (if anything) did they say?

I go to the dealership all the time... they don't say anything. Also even if a problem does occur, they will still cover you under warranty. I talked to my advisor there and he told me anything catback was ok. If it wasn't, I probably wouldn't have had my X-pipes.

I e-mailed my SA yesterday for confirmation. Anyone else asked their SAs?

I finished talking to a senior Service Advisor about 5mins ago. I asked him whether replacing the resonator with an Xpipe will void the warranty.

He said, if the mod does not cause any problems, the warranty is ok. What kind of problems? Engine faults, sensor failures, catalytic converter noise/rattles (possibly due to erroneous install)...etc. It sounds to me that the dealership will blame the xpipe for any exhaust system issues.

Regarding the HID conversion kit, it's the same story as the xpipe. They won't touch the electronics related to the lights if the HID conversion kit are installed. Luckily, HID conversion kits are plug-n-play (just buy a new oem rubber boot to replace the old boot that you drilled a hole on!).

Damm...that sounds good.

Frank doesn't worry about his warranty. Look at his highly modded C32. I remember him tinkering with it back in 2002/2003.

2004 was first time modding the C32. plus I know well enough that the dealership have to show you prove that your mod caused the problems in order for them to void it.

Now, I just want to know cos I know videos can not be fully accurate. Is the sound really loud as I think it is?

if u compare it to a stock 350z would it be louder than that? cos in the video it actually sounds really loud.

Magna Flow X Pipe problem C300 4matic

I ordered the Magnaflow X pipe But when i took it to the local exhaust shop, the 2.25" is not long enough to connect the pipes after having the resonator removed. The guy said i need special piping, possibly the whole exhaust system. How did you people with X mod solve that problem? Any information on the matter would be greatly appreciated?

It's because the Magnaflow Tru-X is a universal x pipe. It's slightly shorter than your resonator so what your muffler shop will have to do is weld on small extender pipes to bridge the gap. This is fairly common practice that any muffler shop should be familiar with installing universal piping components like this. If they're not familiar or trying to scam you saying it's a big special job, find another muffler shop. There's no need to replace the whole exhaust system.
