Same parts as I listed on page one, but a different HU with a single DVD-drive, part number A204 906 28 00

Linguatronic and satnav are built in the HU, the antenna only cost around $100 so why skip it?

Dont we find HU without satnav and lingo. I am asking this from the cost point of view. Offcourse such an HU will be less expensive.

There are only two different Head Units for the Comand system (big 7" screen) and that is with or without DVD changer, the rest are the same

But I live in totally a different region... will that satnav will work at my end? or will I need to make some other changes? or upgrade the nav DVD?

It will work, question is if there is any map material available for your region, your dealer should be able to tell you this.

One dumb question as my dealer won't give me an answer (to bad because I worked there for almost 9 years!!!). I got almost every option in my car except the Ipod connection and soundsystem. Is it possible to retrofit the Ipod connection so I can use the ipod or evan my Iphone with the MM?

I am a bit confused, why would you want the GPS antenna if you don't have SATNAV (Comand with APS)? Are you saying you have an Audio 50 and want to upgrade to Audio 50 w/NAV? did I miss something in the conversation?

No actually I have Audio 20 and I just want a 7" screen with single DVD (No navigation or Lingo). I am not too technical and dunno what that option is called Audio50 or whatever. So I was thinking that I might get a cheaper HU with only a DVD and Hard Drive instead of CD/MP3 which is factory fitted or with SatNav/Lingo.

The other concern was the Diamler Diognosis(I know this term only, have no idea what it is? why they do it? ), as I might be able to skip this diagnosis if I go for with no SatNav/Lingo.

Actually my dealer is not offering retorfitting here locally and what if I get the parts and do the retrofit myself only if I can get pictures and writeup from vic.

One other concern was iPod integration on main screen but for that I guess I need go for UMI and so so .. I can live without.

I want to use DVD in car when I have parked it and waiting for family, offcourse on a bigger screen.

Its the tool all authorized Daimler dealerships use to diagnose cars, programme units, keys and such.

And if we dont do it? .. what issues can come ?

You need to perform version coding with the star diagnosis, add the specific code for the Comand system as well as removing the code for Audio 20,

The system might work without this but can cause issues when searching for faults in the future.

It means we can do the installation ourself and can ask the dealer for star diagnosis. Umm leme check with my dealer. Hopefully its not a warranty void.

If you do the work yourself you will most definately void your warranty, but if a authorized dealer wold perform the install your warranty will continue as normal with the new Comand system instead.
