sorry didn't have chances to install the grille..got caught up with work. Yea I like the stock looking grille but didn't want to paint my OEM one. If anything I'd like to keep it as a spare in case I ever wanna change back.

@vic nice job on the grille car looks cleaannn. My co-worker just said "Thats a sick looking wagon" over my shoulder lol.

@elidolo The CF grille looks sweet.

Here is mine in CF, I used a carbon laminate .05mm thick. It didn't handle curves well and this is the thinest I could find. I would love to find the source for the sample AKA SIG sent me.

I tried wrapping my grille in matte vinyl . . Huge fail.

I took it to my friends shop the next day and just had it painted. I still wouldn't mind having a matte color rather than glossy black.

this issue is fairly easily settled: how much does it cost to take the stock grille to a shop and have it painted? is that price equal to or greater than the price of the ebay grille? if so then buying the ebay grille is the easy choice.

Hey Bro Ron, is it the same grill in yr 2 pics? Did you remove the chrome part for your CF grill?

I thought it would be easy to take out the grille but I couldn't even pull out that little plastic tab after turning it 90 degrees, I did what the DIY in this forum says to use a flathead screw driver and slide in between the small circle piece and the bigger bottom circle and twist. I even broke a small piece of the little plastic tab and it still won't come out....

I had the same problem. I also broke a small piece of the bigger circle off as well. What I ended up doing was just getting pliers to pinch the top of the tab and pulling only on 1 side so that part of the "W" loosens up. Once loosen it freed up and i was able to wiggle it out. Took a bit of effort but it "popped" out.

I was finally able to pull out the grille. Now my question is that is it possible to black out all chrome parts including the MB star? Has anyone tried that?

So this grill is the same as stock but the silver flat pieces are painted black?

anyone? the op has experience with this seller. If you read his ad, the part about where he talks about installation worries me a bit.

And is this the stock grill (OEM) but painted black on the flat parts vs stock is silver or whatever you want to call it.
