Advice for installing powered sub in 08 C350

I want to install a powered subwoofer in the trunk to add more bass in my leased 2008 C350. I have to return it in about a year so I don't want to spend a lot of money doing it. Something like a Bazooka tube would suffice. I am not looking to rattle windows, but just add some more bass, because I have a standard audio system. Decent but solely lacking bass. Anyway, I have some experience wiring car stereos. I set up a two power amp, 7 speaker system in a mustang before, but I used Crutchfield cheat sheet. There's no such thing available for the C350 yet. If anyone has done somethinge like this before, please give me some advice. This vehicle is leased so it has to remain perfectly stock when I return the car. I guess I need to run a power-on wire, power cable, and an audio source to the powered sub. Problem is finding them in the trunk. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

I think I recall seeing a couple threads on this topic, have you tried searching the forum?

I think there is something is the rear that is switched for you. The 12v source in the glove box is also switched IIRC, so one of those will work for your remote power. For main power to your sub, you'll have to run a wire from the battery back to the trunk, and you can tap in to the signal going to the rear speakers to get your audio source.

Feel free to document what you do, take pictures make a DIY for us!

Good luck!

Oh man, I have no idea how I can run a power cable from the battery to the trunk without ripping up carpet or cutting through trim...

You might want to consider having the amp professionally installed. I had a quote for just under $200 to have an amp installed in the trunk. That included all the cabling, inline fuse, low-level converter, etc...
