Gateway International - Took the Kleemann today

Video uploading now ... Essentially the day started off @ 44 degree's rainy and breezy..but through the day, warmed up to 65 and clear. My first few runs were absolutely horrible. I am going to upload every run to give a perspective, but my best run was respectable considering I am on stock michelin pilot sp2 sports with nearly no tread left

R/T.. - .723
60' .. - 1.954
330 .. 5.34
1/8 .. 8.110
mph .. 89.39
1000 .. 10.457
1/4 .. 12.420
mph .. 115.99

I will update this thread in a bit when the video's finish processing...My actually best trap time of the day was 116.7 ... with a 2.3 60ft and a .555 reaction time.

I was running a 1/2 tank of 91 octane.

Highlights of the day.... I got to race against a 2008 Z06 Lingefelter (great video) ... and a few roush mustangs.. then a wonderful baracuda (70's) .. all cars i went against had slicks !)@(%)@#(U

I will get some damn slicks and get this beast into the 11's!!

----------------

Video's processing --

Here is one (you can click HD as i uploaded as 1440x1080)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_jYy...e=channel_page - Best run of the day vs a older GTO with slicks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0Mng...e=channel_page - Running against a 2009 Z06 Lingenfelter

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5pGl...e=channel_page - Running against a 2008 Mustang GT (slicks, 4:10's, intake, other N/A upgrades)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gs1kW...e=channel_page - Running against a 1970 Baracuda (slicks, amazing shape and lots of upgrades)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfZ2h...eature=channel - Running against a 1970's Plymouth Duster 4bb (slicks, NOS) Almost got him

Mine is #3097 - really slow times were major wheelspin

As you can tell from my trap speeds ... I am playing catchup the whole time!!!! With proper tires this is def a high 11 sec car

Good runs! I have to admit I'm starting to feel a little left out here - between you, hooleyboy and others with Supercharged C55/CLK55s I'm becoming more and more tempted to give Kleemann a call everyday. Post the video when you get the chance.....

11.80's or 11.90's with some slicks and possibly put some 93 octane vs 91. Maybe even take out my spare and other stuff out of the car.... who know's i just know i was spinning down the first 60' every single run.

Just an observation I noticed in some of the videos.....

It looked like you were rolling through the water box and then trying to heat up your tires. That's a really bad thing to do on street tires. It will kill your traction every time. Until you are on drag radials or slicks, try to go around the water box.

+1 Some tracks around us will kick you off for doing that as the street tires pull water up the track. Good runs though....

DRs should definitely move you up the C55 Dragtime rankings but none of the C55s with faster times ran with DRs either. Although all the faster SLK55s did with either MTs, BFGs or Nittos.

Congrats on your times. At least the previous owner didn't sell you a car with any apparant engine damage like I did to mine. That's why I chose to keep my car and fix it rather than pass on my problems to some unsuspecting buyer.

We have the same major power adders except for my X-pipe but you have a Kleemann TB and running 10lbs of boost. I ran a best of only 2.545at 116.28 on stock PS2s with 6.5psi and 91Octane on Nov 4th at California Speedway but the car was misfiring badly all day so the next day it went to Vadim for the rebuild.

I recommend you get the torque converter for $900 and open up the exhaust to X-duals. I think that is how Ahmad (Blackbenzz) almost broke into the 10's with his Kleemann S8. He ran his boost at 8psi which is slightly lower than yours. In addition he also modified his air intake which made a huge difference.

Last thing... If you get really sticky tires, you might consider strengthing the transmission and axles as those could be overstressed on launch.
I also don't recommend running on 10psi for very long without lowering the compression on your pistons.

Thumbs up

Nice runs but you need to upload mostly winning videos..I definitely recommend you practice your launch to reduce or eliminate wheel spin and ofcourse get great drag tires like the ones mentioned...also try again with new street tires also like Toyo 888R or go for good 2nd choices. You may want to redyno just to figure out what power you have now...maybe a re-tune incase you aren't running perfect...very nice times/trap speeds for having bald tires

Alumar: Did your car come from Vegas? I know of one other person that has the same Kleemann Pkg on his C55.

What happened to the Mustang? Did he hit his rev limiter twice?

It came from San Fran ...

I am in the process of trying to track down some wheels and a pair of drag tires that will fit around the Brembo GT's ; then im taking it back out to the track and get this thing in the 11's where it belongs.

Did you hear that Ahmad (Blackbenzz) just broke the non-nos AMG record with his 10.7 run? That tells you the potential of these Kleemann S7s. He PM'd me a complete list of his mods and you have almost everything he has in terms of power adders except the intakes, exhaust, phenolic spacers and torque converter. He has a reinforced tranny like mine as well. I think 11's and even 10's are definitely on the near horizon.
