New steering wheel and look

So I decided to do something new with my steering wheel. Thanks to the guys at DctMotorsports, I was able to get an oem AMG steering wheel redone. I had the option to convert to paddle shifters but decided to re-used my shift buttons. I had the wheel done with alcantara inserts and custom gray stitches to match the seats. Also had an alcantara shift boot and stitches to go with it as well. Sonic MS did my installation (took like 15 mins) Here are some pics: To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Looks amazing! Out of curiosity, why didnt you opt for the shift paddles?

Wanted a new look for my grill as well. I found a material that they used to wrap car for that matted look. I covered the chrome strips and emblem. Fully reversible and held up to rocks better than paint, plus it has that matt black with metal flakes look. Here are some pics

Thanks, I didn't want to deal with any unknown issues. Plus, I like the way my buttons feel and I rarely use them except when I need a kick down on command.

A friend of mine gave me the material, but I would imagine if you talk to any of the vinyl shops or do a search for car wrap. Google showed me this

I've got my 3 slat blacked out grill (done with matte vinyl as well) for sale if you are interested in keeping yours as a back up.

1lop,

That wheel looks amazing and I am sure it is more comfortable as well. Great pick up and choice.

Do you happen to have the spare paddles? I am looking for a set, but don't want to pay dealer prices. Just lmk.

Check this website out: http://www.metrodecals.com/ --looks like they have the Matte Vinyl also some Carbon Fiber Vinyls, along with other cool stuff for the DIY'ers.

FTW!

I am now considering either Matte or CF for the grille, if you guys look at the sample pics I like CF sample #3. What do you fellas think?

Thanks, you could send DctMotorsports a PM, they are a sponsor on this forum I think.

According to them, the insert on the bottom wouldn't be possible for them to make the steering wheel more flat, so I opt for the section alcantara.
