2002 c32 purchase tomorrow

hey, just bought a silver c32 amg 2002. I am physched about it. i had a 1998 c280, so I am expected quite a huge increase in speed and power. i have read that there is a lot of problems with the battery dyeing. is it usually the seat control module? how easy of a fix is it? Don't get ahead of yourself man. Trust me, the c32 will give you plenty to work on, or at least that's been my experience...

Let's put it this way... I do the work myself, and because of that I've saved at least $3,000 dollars in the six or so month I've owned the C32. I've got a few problems building up that still need repair too. To answer your question, or what I believe your question was asking, these cars can be problematic to a great extent, and can be very expensive to maintain... Then of course you have the C32's which tend to be very reliable. It just depends. Higher mileage though you should expect to be dropping a decent amount of money into it for repair/maintenance.

Plenty of modifications... Let me fix my signature. It used to have a list of my mods. I just swapped out the rear tires from yoko s-drive to BF g-force. Very satisfied with the g-force currently. I had absolutely no traction in first gear after modifications with those s-drive, and the g-force hold good. Can do four second 0-60 runs...

Welcome to the forum Mitchell. A few searches on here and you'll have more answers to those questions than you know what to do with. I came from a 2000 C280 to my C32. Your going to be very happy you made the switch. What's the mileage on your new car? You'll almost definitely have to put in a new intercooler pump in the future. Don't worry though, it's easy and there are plenty of DIY instructions on this site.

I think for any new C32 owner, you should invest in a good set of tools. This investment will save you lots of money in the future. There are a lot of little things that go wrong that can be fixed with basic tools.

I would say get yourself a good metric ratchet set with inverse torx sockets, an e11 is an absolute must if you are going to be removing the belts or working with the pulleys. Get yourself some flexible extensions, so that you can get in to the hard to reach areas. A breaker bar and a torque ratchet will also help quite a bit.

I think with most of those tools you can tackle any job. Even oil changes are a piece of cake.
