Are you sure its the timing chain??? They are very rare to go bad almost never its a double roller style chain. Maybe something eles is making noise?
What kind of noise? Where is it coming from? Did you take off the serp. belt and run it?
How many miles on the car ?

Not sure

I had the belt off to replace a/c compressor, but didn't run it. The mechanic that re-charged a/c said it sounded like chain noise, but I can remove the belt to eliminate accessories. 184K miles
