Who has the Highest Mileage C43?

I have a 99' C43 with 152k Miles! I don't consider this "HIGH" miles because I have owned and sold cars with well over 200k Miles. I know some on this forum consider "80k" miles High, but lets see who has some HIGH miles!!! To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Pushing 230k on my 1998. Rolled in a new timing chain last fall and replaced a cracked oil pump, and while I had the oil pan off I took a good look at the bores -- they all look brand new. It's astonishing. Driver's seat is worn out but the drivetrain looks like 50k.

If you were concerned, you could probably try getting new seat covers from GAAH. My 95 C280 has 220k and I replaced my saddle MB tex seat covering with one from GAAH, since MB didn't have the covering anymore, and its virtually indistinguishable from the OEM part.

I know GAHH (and WUT) pretty well. Thing is, I really enjoy the contrast in this car between the tired appearance of the chassis and the roaring splendor of the drivetrain. Adds to the inherent sleeper appeal of the C43.

Regular maintenance goes a long way on cars. This is the odometer of the last car I had for sale. I listed the car on a forum, and a bidding war broke out. The "winner" flew in to SoCal from New Mexico with cash and drove it home. Last time I heard from the owner, the car was still running in New Mexico. C43's are much better built than this car was.

103K miles and it almost looks new. When I wax it from 5 feet away it looks brand new. You get closer and can see some rock chips and a ding on the air splitter, but thats about it. Interior is immaculate.

I'll buy Mercedes again. My Volvo of the same year at 120K looked nowhere near as good. These cares are built very, very well.

If I didn't need more room I'd have this car forever. However I need a bigger vehicle to haul kid stuff and I'm not selling the porsche.

The only maintenance I've done on the car in 3 years since 86K was to flush the tranny and radiator and change the oil. I'm working on spark plugs and brake pads right now. I've spend less maintenance on this car than any other car I've ever owned.
