Ok, so how much would the conversion cost? Sounds like you did one b4.

Tell me where this $5k (C43-C55 conversion cost) W203 C55 you speak of exists.

nothing against any 203 chassis but just like most the C43 fanatics ;-) i prefer the body of the 202 much better than the 203, just a personal prefference, and getting to work on both chassis and engines constantly i 100% choose the 202 with the M113 vs the 203 with a M273, unless its still under warranty then doesnt matter cause you dont have to pay lol, but i pretty much like the 202 better all around than a 203 :-)

Hi, the W203 AMG may be great cars but the C32 didn't have the essential
( sorry for saying so) V8 thus came the W203 C55 a very nice car yes, but..
a bit more, dare I say bland and too * off the production line*build than the
W 202 AMG cars C36 and C43 wich both have more of the ( put aside the
asembly line and taken care of individually) the C36 a rough guy but lacking
the V8, the C43 still a bit rough and now with the baby M113. To many here
as also myself the classic MB look wins over the W203 and W210 face!

M273 C class? never heard of, it woldn't even work if converted so.
Why not C55 W202 from the start? What a killer that would have been
really, MB didn't want to offend the E55 or CLK55 for that matter I think.
This brings us to D.I.Y C55 as there are only a handfull *factory converted*
to find, a C43 with the CLK55 208 driveline attached.
Seeing the pictures of this C55 I notice and wonder, is it real or fake?
A couple of years ago there was one '99 W202 C55 T for sale in Germany
and I remember the picture of the speedometer, it was reading 300km/h
because of the 2.82 rear diff.
When I do my own C55 upgrade I will use the same gearing as the W203
C55, 3.06 wich mean it's the big 210mm ring gear, the stock 3.07 is the
smaller 185mm medium size diff, not the W203 diff but one ASD/LSD W124 diff.
Another upgrade I'm thinking of is converting to 8.5-9.5 19" AMG styleII
tight fit? we will see. Roger

thanks everyone!!

I can send you the details when I get home from work. If you want to search now you can search on autotrader and i'm sure that I'm the only C43 for sale in Iowa. Also you can look in the classified section under my user ID.
