** Evosport 63-Series Development Progress **

Hey all, although we have been working on 63 development for quite some time, we had not formally announced anything. We wanted to take this chance to give a glimpse into what we are doing, and what we will have available for your 63-series AMG.

We have been doing the majority of our development on a CLK63 Black Series. Have a car here and we're designing and building a number of great upgrades for the vehicle specifically as well as many items that will carry over to other 63-series models. Will use this thread to keep everyone posted. Some of the items being worked on as we speak are:
  • Stainless long-tube performance headers + hi-flow cats
  • Stainless x-pipe resonator replacement
  • Compound brake rotors (front/rear) + upgraded pads
  • evosport dampened crankshaft and accessory pulley kit
  • Custom software
  • Aero Package (front carbon lower diffuser, rear carbon DTM-style wing)
  • Track Package (billet lower rear adj. control arm, camber plates, track spring setup)

HEADERS
T304 stainless steel, tig-welded, tri-y design, high velocity merge collector, pulse tuned, port matched, sleeved design. The final product will have a lifetime guaranteed high polish coating.

Below are pics of the prototype unit...more to follow...

Here is the header compared to the 63 Black OE log manifold

compared to:

BRAKES
To start, we will offer multi-piece rear rotor (factory is solid) for the front and rear to match the front. Similar to what we offer now for the 55 AMG's (see below). Later we will offer a carbon ceramic rotor replacement option.

PULLEY
We will be offering the same industry leading technology found in our 55k pulley system for the 63-series cars.

(image of a 55k system for reference

SOFTWARE
Starting with the a basic ECU tune to a custom tune for the pulley and/or long tube header and cats. Done in house with Powerchip. Every evosport power package is tuned using our in house dyno and engineering in partnership with Powerchip exclusively.

AERO
We are developing our own splitter and rear trunk and/or wing for the CLK and CLK Black. With enough demand, we will also be offering this for other 63-series models. These will be out of high quality carbon fiber

TRACK SUSPENSION
All suspension pieces are being designed and produced in-house by our engineering team. The combined team has over 80 year racing experience from Indy Car to F1 to World Challenge and ALMS.

You can see more info on our racing team and program HERE and HERE

Wow! Thank you for that great introduction.. keep up the great work! If you could possibly upload a sample of how the new exhaust system will sound like it would be amazing!

Here are some updates as we wrap up the first development cycle.

Here are some X-pipe pics.

We have the option of Metallic Cats and Hi-Flow resonators for anyone if they are requested, FYI.

Here is a teaser vid with the exhaust (This is with the long tube headers, x-pipe, no cats and OE mufflers):

8MB video - FYI.

here is a much smaller version (the sound is the same, but the video quality is poor to keep it small):

thanks

Some updates.

Exhaust:
- We did add our high performance resonators, the rasp and harshness is gone. it sounds amazing!

Dyno:
- We have finished the first night/round of tuning. Pretty happy with the results so far! +56 RWHP and +47 RWT for the header, exhaust and software (of course done with our tuning partner Powerchip)!

Here is a quick vid on the rollers:

Aero:
We have completed the front and the rear bits (with big thanks to our aero partner Vorsteiner who came through once again by accomplishing the impossible with far less time then reasonable) - we could make this for C-class with enough demand also:

* You can click on the images for more pics *

* You can click on the images for more pics *

The Carbon weave on the front and rear matches OE almost perfect. These are pre-clear coat, which is happening now. It is really hard to see the CF on the rear due to the lighting, but it is full CF.

More to come........

Thanks
Brad

Wow...excellent work! Once my car arrives I plan to begin modding right away, and I definatley would like to add the Evosport headers, exhaust, and software. Hopefully it won't take you guys long to adapt these parts to the C63 once they hit our shores.

I'll tell you a few things I would be very interested in as far as carbon fiber parts goes:

- Badgless grille Brabus Bullit style (Brabus won't sell this separate, reserving it for their cars)
- Rear wing, but perhaps a little more subtle than the one you made for the BS
- Rear diffuser

I would like to think that I'm not the only one who would like to see these parts in CF. I planned to have them custom made if no one else was going to.

Looking at the graph, it looks more like +56 RWHP.
Still good tho.

Agreed. Also, front lip makes it extremely low for road use.

Actually the bumper sits very high in stock form. The lip that Vorsteiner made for us sits ~ 1.5" further out, but is the same height off the ground as stock. Lowered in as we did it is very similar to a F430, GT3 RS, etc....

Thanks for the comments. Obviously styling mods are typically not universally liked - just like watches, cigars, boats, cars, women, etc - we all have different tastes! No offense taken.

thanks
Brad

There is more to be had on the top end, but we ran out of time. The next one we will get some more!!!!!!

Here is the car hitting 200 on the dyno - YOUTUBE LINK 1 and YOUTUBE LINK 2

Thanks for all that followed this build!

i have a suggestion:
you guys should make a replica of the brabus grille as stated by another member.
also, you should consider making the three piece spoiler as seen on the bullitt.
maybe even the blackline taillights also.

When I take delivery of my C63, I would be extremely likely to purchase intake and exhaust system mods as well as the front splitter, rear deck lid spoiler and a functional rear diffuser. Keep up the great work!

Otoupalik, in regards to the carbon lip up front, do you think the version for the (W204) would fit the 300 series with the sport kit also? I'm sure you could find at least 15-20 people who would be willing to deposit to have that go to molding.

Thanks - We would love to start new C-class dev soon, we just have no local customers who want to donate the car in exchange for a great deal nor do we have an in house car.

Headers, exhaust and software for sure are different in the black series. Between the classes for the standard 63, basically very little differences.

Well anything can be made to fit, but I am not sure how much effore.

If you can get me 15-20 people (or even 10) willing to do something and put a small deposit down, then I can get it made. We have done this on a number of items in the past and can and will work with enthusiasts to make unique things for forgotten models anytime we can.

Yes, we will have them on the web site and can take orders for them now. Same process as your e46. Funny how many people do that now. Seemed simple to us but nobody had done it - now it seems there are 20+ vendors selling those! lol

Thanks
Brad
