Still doesn't make sense to me they would sell at a base price lower than C55.
I'll believe it when I see it on mbusa "build your own", unless this base price is for a completely gutted model whereby ordering with all the options will bring it above 65K like the M3.

Is 030 PP an option or is the rumors of it not coming this year true? That's the deal breaker for me.

This is a good day for the C63 if everything is true, low MSRP Base, C/S/M mode controlling the ride comfort...

The performance package will not be available for the 2008 model run (very short). It will be available for the 2009 model run which should start to appear on US shores around late August/September.

Yeah, this is a low MSRP... but i do believe that the options on the car will obviously boost up the price a good amount. I believe getting out of the dealership with the car wil be 58k+ . Anyways im going to purchase this car in 2 years when i can get it for a cheap price.

That information is still being worked as some of the items on the C63 are standard whereas on the other C class models they were part of a package.

You can estimate by looking at the same package and options for the regular C class and use that as an estimate. So things like P2 pkg, ipod integration, TeleAid, etc. are probably close if not the same.

The gas guzzeler tax, I'm guessing will be in the $1000 to $1300 range.

Yes but if you look at the pricing for the competition, the price is very competitive so from that perspective it looks right, especially give the fact that when other AMG models went to the 63 engine, there was a boost in base price straight away. So the C63 seems to have escaped that boost due to the competitive nature of the market it plays in.

This is a shockingly low price and all of the pre conceived notions about 70k after loading up the options are now false.

I'm not suprised at all at the price. 08 is labeled as going to be a hugely slow year domestically for the auto industry with the R word looming.

are you kidding? ~$15k of option "packages" comprising the one thing you want and 3-4 you don't, for those who want 3 things that are spread among the $5-7k option packages, is oh so likely, your 70k will come and go before you know what hit you!

recall the optioning on the slk55 if you need a refresher on MB-style prison rape pricing dynamics.

...unless you're looking for the barest of bare-bones cars, in which case $55k is where it's at.

so they're officially not bringing the wagon stateside, i take it? that's a bummer.

have they actually declared a definitive "no" to that, even for '09 or 10?

i'd guess $8-10k for the performance package. stereo or hvac upgrades are usually in the $4-5k range for MB.

per the car connection article performance pack pricing will be $3900. Much better than the $8500 PP for the e63. does anyone have a color list for the car, or do all c-class colors apply? i'm on the list for white, but that medium gray looks nice.
