2009 C63 - HRE 790's - UPDATED

UPDATED - Installed the KW's..I adjusted the rear to almost a tuck..the front's I need to play with.

Props to;

Ben @ Wheels Boutique
Guy @ HRE Wheels
Demo & Rob @ Wheel Concepts/Tire Empire

Car is going into body shop in Monday to do the grill, tails and emblems. My KWv3's are on their way. A+ to all the vendors who helped me get these wheels and tires on the car before the winter comes here in NY. My original HRE Monoblock's that I got from WB were the wrong offset. Ben immediately took them back in exchange for a set of my choice. I think I made a good choice with the 790's, since as sexy as the Mono wheel is.....it's popping up everywhere. Ben and the guys at WB - A+++...best vendor I have dealt with. Guy at HRE - Awesome communication and getting the wheels to me. Demo & Rob - Run Staten Island's car scene..possibly all of NY's. Got me the sticky Vredstein tires. Look at all the pics..

the wheels look pretty sweet but the black lip is a little too much for me

in any event if that's what makes you feel happy and satisfied, props to that

+1 Those look awesome. I like the black lip but am wondering how it will look on my Palladium Silver, so I think all brushed finished may be the way to go. Any thoughts?

All brushed is nice..but I can see how it will be a pain to maintain..I would do the brushed center with chrome lip..

Looks like you have 13" wheels on. I'm not a fan of the face of the wheel bulging out. Sorry.

Question Pin stripe??

Congrats! Nice wheels. I'm just wondering, why did you go with black lip??? Don't you think that it makes your 20's look smaller, way smaller. It always happens with black wheels or black lips, the rim looks at least 2 inches smaller. Because the tires are black and there is no visible line that would accent the wheel size. You got 20's for the better look of the car, right? Not performance of course. So, why not show off the wheel size. As I remember, your last wheel set up had a pin stripe, why didn't you have it done this time? I think if you had a crome lip it would look really nice with your Arctic White. But, however, it is your car and you're the boss. How are the Vredesteins??? Soft, loud, got grip??

looks pretty good. not crazy about the black lip.
but you can always add sexy pinstripe to it and then it'd be badass!

Listen..this is a heavy car......when the car is moving, the suspension sits and it looks PERFECT. It looks like the face of the wheel is floating. It's more of a "you need to see it in person"...

No need to be rude. He was giving his opinion to the thread you started seeking feedback.

FWIW, I agree with his opinion on not liking the look of those particular HRE wheels. Dunno if it is the black lip or the wheel style itself.

Thanks for sharing though.

Definetely unique, though myself not my choice, but you do have a one of a kind C63 which is important!

I agree. That style HRE wheel by itself is nice. The black lip gives off the appearance of a 50-55 series tire. All black or all silver would have been nice too. When it comes down to it though... as long as you enjoy the ride, it's all good.

I like the style of the rim but I think the black lip makes it look kinda small in the pics. I'm sure it looks unique and real nice in real life though. I would have gone with the brushed centers/chrome lip.

How about the opposite?

I also like the rim style. I would like to see the exact opposite of what you've got mounted. What I mean is matte black center, with a brushed outer rim. For me that combo is really hot!

Maybe someone can photoshop it for ya.

Not feeling the black lip at all. I think the wheel by itself is great...but it needs to be brushed center and chrome lip or black center and chrome lip.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Unfortunately this beholder doesn't like the wheels or the colour of the car.

I have seen several cars with the Black lip, or all black rims. What I noticed, (and many others) is that the wheel does not stand out. The HRE's are nice, but perhaps some black accents or black center would have been better, but it's my opinion.

Also, the Black lip will need to be maintained more and I got that from different rim and tire shops on that tip.

If you are happy, that is all that matters!

P.S.- I wonder how this would look with a white lip?

wheels

Everybody is right about the black lips, they just make the wheel look smaller,

what you need to do is paint the windows of the face and you will get a much better look or go all black and mill the edges of the spokes,
