No offense taken, this car is very quick for what in ran in the condtions,it was his first time out,he had a full tank of gas & it ass end is lowered right over the tyre,i am certain with the stock suspension it will help, driving technique isnt good either, next time out i will be there with him with the right set up,i,m a certian this car will walk into the 11's,another thing to consider is he has khumos on the rear, there was heaps of wheel spin 1st and second,as i said with practice and time, this car will walk into the 11's.

I must agree that practice launching is a huge part of it. I practiced launches on country back roads before heading to the track. With the stock tires the best I could ever come up with is - RPM 1800 - Manual mode - ESP OFF - Baby it through first - Dump the fuel while going to second. I would stongly suggest before you make any new passes, get some drag radials. Especially if you guys are trying to impress us to sell your product. Good luck with your venture and I hope you move into the 11's.

DON'T use manual mode.

Keep the car in sport mode, ESP off. When you come up to the start, hit the shifter DOWN, it will put the tranny into Auto-sport, but it will ONLY shift at redline. This enables you to feather first gear off the line but still shift perfect every time at red line.

Get some different tires. Hooiser A6 worked well for me, they are soft when hot and have a 40 treadwear. Do a good burnout with them to get them nice and sticky. The Kuhmos won't provide near enough traction for the strip.

When you say hit the shifter down, does this mean you are throwing it into 1st gear ? i guess from then on it changes byitself ?

i too didnt know about this d1 business till i read this. good info fellas. i tried it the other day, 1st gear changes just before 7, then every other gear changes at 7. how ever i also found if you take of in S Mode (D1), then when it goes into D2, hold the up shifter for 2-3 secs so then it goes into only S Mode, and it will change just past 7000rpm (approx 7200rpm).

so when i'm in S mode and at the staging lanes, I have to downshift down to D1? I already thought it was in D1 automatically.
