DVD Service Manual

I'm trying to purchase this manual and want to make sure it is what I'm looking for. MB calls it Star Classic DVD service manual, p/n P-2700-220/215-07. On this Forum, I see one referred to as the Star Service Manual Library. I don't know if they are the same or not. What I want is a detailed service manual for the CL. MB wants $60 plus tax and shipping. I also see one on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...=p4506.c0.m245

Can I get some comments on this please.

Since you posted this, I'm actually considering getting it myself. Seems like a worthwhile investment considering the type of sophisticated problems CL's have. I might even mention it to my S.A. here. You should get it. Also, you are well-versed in understanding a CL.

By the way, I had a quick question: do you predict any upcoming problems on my CL? It has 102,000 miles on it now and it's a 2002.

"I see one referred to as the Star Service Manual Library. I don't know if they are the same or not."

They're the same. I bought one from MB. The front cover says:"STAR Service, Service Manual Library, Model 215, Model 220." The rear cover says: Part No. P-2700-220/215-07. Version 1.0.

Did you have to order it from the MB New Jersey Home Office? They told me that it must be ordered thru them and cannot be purchased from your stealer. BTW, how do you like it...is it user friendly and does it provide sufficient info to do a job? Thanks for your input.

The ebay dvd looks legit, but let's hope it's not a copy. I'd get it from the dealer to be safe. Your dealer Parts dept. should be able to order it for you. The dvd is da bomb. You can do ALL procedures and repairs with the info in it.

The DVD is an excellent tool to have. I ordered one by calling 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES. Credit cards accepted.

I just purchased one on Ebay but I didn't realize that it's a copy. We'll see how it works out.

I agree. Its very worthwhile if you even do just a little bit of service. It made repairs to my door wiring a lot simpler. Nice pics, good explanations of what needs to be done in which order.

I was also not able to get it from the stealer. Got it directly from MB Canada. About 100 bux cdn. they mailed it and I got it within 2 days.
