New CL600

Just purchased an 07 CL600 black on black. I absolutely love the car. The interior blows away my 04 A8L. To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Question

Hi!

Did you compare the CL 600 vs 63? Curious as to your driving experiences in the 600.... I have a Launch Edition CL 550 and love it....but I also love the torque of the V12s....had a SL 600 years back and it was FUN!

I was about to test drive a new CL 63 at my dealership and they sold it out from under me while I was driving over there ...could NOT drive it as it was PDI'ed and detailed waiting for delivery later this week...sigh...

So how does the 600 compare?

Thanks.

D.

You can buy one at a computer store like CompUSA...

get one with at least 2 GB of memory so you can put lots of music on it.
Be careful as there are several types of memory cards. You can buy an adapter so that some of them can be used in the car. Seems like the car should come with one as they are inexpensive. On that car, I think you can offload content from the card to the hard drive which I believe holds 20 GB.

I just bought the same black 07 CL600 with charcoal interior, same 19" wheels; in full agreement, it is a fantastic automobile. Debated this vs the CL63 AMG, but am confident I made the right choice.
Congratulations to you.

i bought mine before the 63s came out but i could not be more happy. the difference in torque was just too big to ignore. if they make a twin turbo V8 with comparable torque i'd probably buy that but until then this car is more than i could expect. hope you enjoy the car as i am.

i did not compare them as the 63s came out about a month before i bought it but after reading up on both i am pleased with the 600 as it has more torque and a better interior. also, i think after you add the options on the 63 that come standard on the 600 the 63 is actually more expensive but that's not really important in this price range.

I debated between the CL63 and the CL600 and finally decided on the CL63, probably because it was AMG and it looked so different than the CL550/600 body. The CL63 does have less torque and it is quite noticeable at lower rpms, unless you play with the paddles. On the other hand, the car sounds unlike anything you have ever heard from Mercedes - quiet when preferred or a roaring V8 when desired. Pricing as you mentioned was not much of a difference when both cars are similarly optioned. If and when Mercedes adds the "sport package" on the CL600, I could easily see myself driving a 12 cylinder. The 600 is still the top dog imo.

That is saying a lot. 04+ A8's are pretty much the top of the food chain when it comes to interiors, but you are right there is something special about the CL's interior. Beautiful car

That is saying a lot, the A8 is one of the best interiors I've seen hands down, so is the CL/S new gen interior.

Agree with all. The CL600 is the emptomy of Mercedes class and elegance (barring the 600 of course). =)
