Keyless go card replacement?

Another question.

Has anyone found another source for replacement of a keyless go card?

Haven't seen any on ebay, and also wondered if you can re-program a keyless go card if one could be found at a wrecker?

Thanks

If anyone but MB can program a key card, count me out of the program...

I have an extra one laying around. I'll find out if it can be reprogramed by MBZ.

Thanks, that would be great!

I'll check into it this week and see what I can find out here as well. I know the dealer can program keys, so I don't see why they couldn't do the go card.
( I say while crossing fingers... )

Dealer sez yes!

The local dealer service tells me it can be done, for 2 hrs labor. I'm in, if the offer is still good.

I hope you explained to them that the card did not belong to your car. You do not want to end up paying for the programming for nothing.

2 procedures

Yeah. There are 2 procedures possible depending on the situation.

1. You have cards, but have had to replace the electronic unit that stores the codes. In this case, The unit has to "learn" the codes in the key.

2. The other scenario is that you have a key that is not coded to the unit. This can happen for various reasons, including my situation. In this case, the unit will already have two "key tracks" registered in the unit from the previous keys, which must be erased so that the new key card can be entered. There are only 2 tracks assigned to keyless go cards, thats why you can't have any more than 2.
