Smile Looking to trade my CL63 for an R8, is it worth the money?

Looking to sell my 08 CL63 AMG, 5k mile, Iridium Silver with black interior, fully loaded: radar guided cruise control, reverse camera, blind spot assist, parking sensor, Rims, Exhaust mod, Brabus Bootlid.

Pics:
the Badboy is bck from the workshop!

I am in the middle of trading my car for an R8 but the dealer,EM motor in Los angeles, is offering me 120k for my car and he wants to sell his R8 at 155000. This sounds like a ripoff to me. Can anybody help me with used R8 prices? What should I be looking at if I am interested in a trade in? Are they still really that expensive in this economy? Thanks people.

Hi R8's are still fetching good money so if you change be prepared to loose
money.
My question is WHY? These are totally different cars, I have a CL65, comfortable, very quick. a real long distance car. I test drove an R8,
I found it cramped, jiggly ride, hard seats, but it looks nice and corners
like it's on rails. Not for me.

screw the R8... I would get a GT-R or Gallardo and save $$

The GT-R is a better car overall and looks great... the Gallardo is what it is and the R8 is basically a Gallardo with a different skin....nice Gallardo's are going for under $100k now.....but personally yeah the CL63 is the perfect all around car....

Keep the CL63, the R8 isn't particularly quick.
You don't need Jap crap, and Lambo's a bit over the top.
Have you driven an R8 yet, do it before deciding.

I feel like changing my CL because I also happen to have a S63 with the same interior color black, so it feels kinda too similar with each other and I wanted to try something different. But I am no sure yet though since I already spent lots of money on the CL...
Inputs are appreciated.

Possibly consider the Maserati GranTurismo-S if you want to get out of the CL and still remain in a luxurious 2+2. And I do think that $155k is a little high, but I'm sure it's negotiable 5-10K. The R8 is definitely a unique car and an eye turner though.

sorry as much as i love the R8 and i do there is no way i would spend that money on that car. after riding in one all i have to say is where is the POWER! for 150 there are numerous F430's and lambos out there. the R8 is not worth the money. all that said hey its your money and your ride. if you like the R8 more for what ever reason than go for it. whatever you do have fun and post some pics.

I'd have to agree, as much as I love the R8, for the amount of money that it cost, the power is just not there... however you do already have an AMG in the S, do what you makes you happy. I will look into how much the R8's are going for you tomorrow when I get back into the office.

Thanks James.
I personally think I might keep the Cl63 and just place an order for the v10 but we will see. Its partly cause the prices of the normal R8 are crazy in Los angeles. Does anybody knows what does a use R8 fetch in their respective home town. Thanks

In the U.K. R8's are fetching 15 grand over retail, which means a 78k car
going for 93k!!!!!! When they finally catch up it will loose money big time.

Thank goodness for being able to get inputs from you guys, All my friends are telling me to sell the Cl. but after having this discussion I am leaning towards keeping My Cl
I really wanted the R8 but I do believe they will lose a lot of money once the depreciation catch up to them.

Aww man why everyone selling their cl's. My friend is selling his too.

I am currently driving my dad's s550. I would love to have a CL. I think its the best looking car out there man.

You feel a presence ya know. The car looks awesome. Here are some advice for you. Audi r8 awesome looks ****ty interior not worth it to pay so much for an AUDI. I personally feel that audi's are over priced. If i had 150k I would go for either little used gallardo or the new SL63. AWESOME AWESOME CAR. The new SL63 is awesome. The sound the transmission AWESOME!.

Anyways happy hunting Just for your FYI my neighbour has an Audi R8 I tested it before. Power everything is just not to good on the car. It handles awesome and looks awesome other than those 2 factors I think everything else sucks.

But hey whatever floats your boat man.

Really doubt the GT-R is a better overall car. There is no nice Gallardos going for under 100k unless it's high miles, which is not a nice Gallardo.
R8 has different engine, skin, etc. not too much in common with the Gallardo.

Agree on all counts.
Test drove R8 about a month ago. Overpriced, overhyped, underpowered piece of .......car. Once, not such a long time ago seriously considered that choice. Glad (very much) that I went with CL600. Few guys, WSH is an example, clearly advised me to abandon that route.
Very glad I did, V12 (in my case) is a "trip" every time I happily press accelerator
