Springs AND Shocks?

OK...so everybody replaces their shocks when they put on lowering springs. Why is that? Just for better handling?

I put on H&R's w/ #1 pad in the front and #3 in the rear (cuz I have skinny tires and don't want the rear to sit lower than the front). I left the shocks alone. However, it didn't make as much of a drop as I expected.

If I put on Koni's or Bilstein sport shocks, will it be any lower?

Will the ride quality be higher or lower?

From my experience if you install Koni's and cut the bump stops in half which is recomended the car will sit a little lower.

And yes the ride quality is much better. The only thing I don't like is not being able to adjust the shocks myself to my taste if I change my mind about how stiff I want them to be, but for the most part their is now way you can compare a stock shock to Koni shocks.

Using lowering springs without changing to performance shocks will make your stock shocks wear out more quickly.

Do any Koni's fit the CLK properly? Any suggestions as to which ones I get? Can't afford coilovers BB haha. All I know of are Bilstein and Koni and can't find a w208 setup on koni's site.

You need:

26 1575Sport - Front
26 1576Sport - Rear

They work well, I have them in my car.
