My dealer quoted me $250 at MB-LN
I guess it can be done then.

I just ordered a chrome key for a customer with a 06 ml350 that did not originally come with one and it worked fine, tryed it out this afternoon and it worked on the first press of the button. The key goes for about $70 remote with blade.

I take it you work in parts dept? I tried at my dealer and supposedly there is a memo floating around saying it may happen in due time but for now not taking orders to prevent Germany being innundated with a billion new key requests from across the globe.

I may give it another shot at a smaller dealer.....maybe thats the ticket.

What!!! $70.00 for a remote and blade. I work at an MB dealer and we don't sell keys for that cheap!! How much do you sell keyless-go keys for??
I don't see why the key would not work, the exterior casing has nothing to do with the way the smart key works with the electronic ignition switch. I personally prefer the non-metal key since I keep it in my pocket and don't like the added bulkiness and weight of the new key.

These are the part numbers for vehicles without Keyless go.
Remote: 211 766 36 06, List price $59.00
Blade 203 766 50 06, List price $3.70

Check the numbers with you parts department that is the correct pricing. Whats funny is that the all black plastic remotes are much more than the new style chrome keys

no, they are very resistent as to even saying yes to being able to do that for you. they are weary of thieves.
you have to go in to the dealership with proof of ownership.

FYI guys. Keys come from Fort worth texas already programed so if any delaer is saying they have to program something for you its a bunch of BS. When keys come in they are coded to your key by chassis number. If any you guys are in the Union NJ area stop by with your drivers lisence and registartion( both names have to match on your documents) and we can get you a key.

Do you have a part number for the key WITH Keyless Go?

keyless go keys must be programmed through the star diagnosis-you have to order key by key track and program it. the other keys do not-unless you have the older style keys(sitchblade type).

Would this work for my '01 CLK - W208?

It already has the smaller ugly all plastic Smartkey. None of the dealers around here wants to do it. I'm just going to visit them with the part numbers..

Thank you for posting the numbers by the way.

Mercedes Benz of Beverly Hills quoted $70. A lot of other dealerships have given prices like that to people on thos forum.

I just ordered a key with those part numbers for a 2005 E500. Just like you guys say, the dealer said that could not do it. After I told them to just order it with that part number and with my VIN, they reluctantly did. However they will not guarantee it will work. Anything I need to spell out for them? Will I need to pay for the dealer to porgram it? TIA

Beverly Hills just said they could not do it for my 2004 clk55? They say it works on newer models? They are contact MB for me to confirm if it will work. I hope it does?
