Track Day-new jersey motorsports park 11/09/08
does anyone want to go to the track on 11/9/08.PDAdrivingschool.com is doing a track day. i'm in. for $50 they give you a 20 minute classroom lesson and one 20-30 minute session on the track (Thunderbolt course).sounds like alot of fun. clk is not the best track car but it will be fun to see what it can do at the track.

I won't be there, but I've heard great things about that track.
Why not think about going to the event at Virginia International Raceway on Dec 6/7. I'd love to have another CLK500 to run with. Here's the link if you are interested www.chinmotorsports.com

hey, that sounds great. I'll see how i like the clk on the track, and I'll let you know. what AMG breaks are you using? and did you notice a difference with the sway bars.

I have the brakes that come OEM on the CLK 55. I got them on a group buy from Evosport a few years back. They are exactly the same as on the CLK 500 except cross-drilled rotors and AMG logo on the calipers - in other words, don't waste your money!
Suspension/sway bars, on the other hand, are definately worth upgrading. Both the CLK 500 and 55 have HORRIBLE body roll once you start pushing the car a little. Hope you enjoyed your track day today

Glad to hear you had fun
Watkin's Glen is on my "to do" list for 2009. I know VIR is pretty far for you, but for a 2 day event, I think it would be worth it. Here is a link to all of the HPDE events at various tracks http://www.trackschedule.com/sched.html If you scroll down, you will see everything for 2008 listed. I'm told the schedule for 2009 should be available in another week or so. May help you plan for future events
