omar26, Why would it take a couple hundred miles for the ECU to kick in? If the ECU is flashed to a preset condition that changes the parameters of "ie" fuel mixture, etc. Shouldnt M-benZ results be automatic. When we all bought our cars we didnt need to go a couple hundred miles for the ECU to begin working. Im not flaming so please dont take it as such. Im just curious to know why the gains/results wouldnt be noticed after installation. To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Ok guys finally I got my ECU installed back. This is what I feel like but dont expect like u have superchager or turbo anything like that but it definitely feels smoother. The throttle response has improved I mean the engine revs much quicker like it used to be. I dont know is it in my head or not but from 70 to 120 I felt like im flying There is alot of power in the middle rpm range the car with the esp off and also the top speed limiter has also been removed. It was around 6500rpm. And again I felt much quicker in the mid range instead of the Top End but hey it worth it thou. The important thing is you dont feel S****t in the first 5 minutes I was just thinking that I just flushed $300 in the toilet lol. To me it seems like the ECU was adapting the way u drive or something but f***k just drive the s***t out of it If you have any questions i will be glad to answer. I will rematch one of my buddy this sat. he got the Intergra Type R with bunch of mods we'll see how it goes. Does anyone in here feels like u lose the Top End power ?? I raced with him and he always got me around 110 to 120 ?? but b4 that I raped his a***s lol. Sorry guys I know my writing is sux

im going based on wot i was told by oliver. I'm guessing bc the ecu is reflashed and adapts to the driver like m-benz said...if i recall thts wot oliver told me as well.

What was the turn around time from when you sent the ECU till you got it back?

Ha, Ha! Sorry. How long did it take to send the ECU, reflash the new program into the ECU, return the ECU to you and then reinstall? So, if you sent out the ECU on Monday, you had it returned and installed on..........

Hey Andy, I thinking about sending my ecu to
oliver for tune. Before I do that, I wanted to ask you, is it worth it- can you feel the difference and about how many horses you think it adds to the ride

I'm thinking about driving down there in a few weeks and getting it done. I'll be doing it to a 2006 w203 which I haven't seen anyone here do on. I'll report my results once thats done. The only other mod I may do before the reflash is k&n air filters but not sure on that yet. Since its just a software upgrade to the ECU and not chip getting soddered on I don't know that MB will be able to detect that it has been modified. At least I hope not especially since I purchased an extra 2 years of warranty.

sorry to bring up and old thread. but i was looking into this powerchip for my ecu. what makes this power chip from speedtuning any different from the powerchip from powerchip. lol other than the 400 dollar difference from its price tag. it looks like they both report the same gains. so anyone have any input on these?

much appreciated.
