anybody raced E92 M3 with their CLK550?
i had a chance to go against 4 and beat them all.
some runs were 10mph to 70mph
some were 40mph to 120mph
the only car i could no beat was 2008 C6 Corvette 6speed with exhaust and intake. he got me by 1/2 car.
was wondering if anybody had similar experiences.

Unless the M3 was not racing and or had a full car then i don't see how you beat him. I've raced a stock e92 and it's not close...specially after 50, i don't see how he couldn't hang with you at 120. Maybe it was a 335 badged as an M

Ok here we go:
I was surprised myself so were the M3 Drivers!
I raced 3 coupes and 1 convertible. All 2008 E92. Beat them all 1 to 2 cars easy.
No point lying or showing off.
We did multiple runs with the same result. All rolling start. Car is totally stock.
The only reason I posted this is just to find out if other 550 are this fast.
I also raced a convertible 911, i don't remember what model it was, but its was the newest shaped , looked '09
He took off, but by 100mph i was a car in front of him.
As I said the only car i could not take was a 400HP 3300 lbs 6 speed Corvette with mods.
Out of 3 runs from 40 to 110 he got my once by 1/2 car other times he miss-shifted or some excuse. Wwe were even once and once 1/2 behind me.
Since my runs were consistent and he passed me once its safe to say he is a little faster, and much louder )

Check your engine real quick, maybe they gave you a CLK63.

Yes, its possible. Just b/c it doesn't say ///AMG on the trunk lid doesn't mean it isn't one. The 550 motor is basically a modified version of the original 5.5L AMG engine (better heads) so they are still basically AMGs just not the full 6.3L. W208 AMGs can beat them lightly modded so ya thats not very surprising in the least from a roll. From a stand still with DSG & launch control that's a completely different story but those results seem completely legitimate vs a stock car.

As far as a 911 goes, our CLK550 can hang toe to toe with a STOCK 966 911 Turbo

have you driven the M3? it's slow as dog****. i'd take an E46 M over the E92 any day of the week. aside from sexy styling of the coupe version, the car seriously just doesn't perform. i opened this thread knowing the 550 probably beat the **** out of it.
