COMAND question

I want the hands free feature in the 55, and am in the process of working with Steve on the install, but I have a question. What are the COMAND features? I really only want the hands free phone feature, but am uncertain as to what I might be missing if I opt for only the phone install and not the COMAND. Is COMAND really only Nav?

Also, on the hands free phones, are most using the UHI supported phones? If so, or not, for what reasons?

Thank you!

Comand is not 'only' nav. It's radio as well, and if you have a factory fitted CD changer, it can be controlled from the comand unit also...

The COMAND unit also has a single CD player in it (for the Navigation CD's), in case you don't have a 6-disc CD changer - or it's disconnected (I had to have mine disconnected to have Steve install my ice>Link: Plus iPod adapter). I haven't actually tried to use it as a CD player (it always has a Navigation CD in its belly) but I assume it can still play regular audio CD's
