Has anyone installed a Gen 1 HPS supercharger system?

I'm going to buy a 1st generation HPS supercharger system and I want to do the install my self. The system looks very simple. No, water lines, oil lines or intercooler. Has anyone installed one them selves or had their local mechanic install one. How long did it take and is it as easy as I'm guessing?
Thanks.

I'm not a handyman and I guess it would be a matter of your skill but I would not assume it would be at all easy. I got my a$$ kicked last night trying to change airfilters. I'm bringing it to my mechanic in a little while. Good luck and keep us informed

If there are no lines and your mechanical abilities are par then I don't think you would have much of a problem. You could call HPS and speak with them.

Why would I have to rebuild the FMU? The kit comes with a new one. I think it is a Vortech. I know there is a 3 wires to soider for the voltage clamp.

thought you buying used,... because the FMU tend to fail easily with excessive pressure

Do they still sell the first gens?

They have a couple kits left. I know it doesn't have the power of the Gen II but I just wanted a bit more power. If I get 90whp that will put me almost at 400whp and 410wtq. For me that is plenty for right now. I have done many mechanical things like, lowering cars, radiators, intakes, control arms, diffs, etc. From looking at the Gen I kit, it looks as if it shouldn't take too long to do the install

Had a custom made one that has a FMIC ,,. a lot harder to install!!!!

but every thing is bolt on...

The main cocerns for these bolt on are not enough fuel.!!!! Me and couple other fellow members here are still trying to get more fuel to the engine.
