What's Quicker?

CLK55 - 2000 thru 2002 0-60 times in tiptronic or 0-60 times letting the automatic transmission doing the work?

im not too sure, and im too lazy to go look it up.. but i suck at the tiptronic shifter, i let the transmission do all the work for me. though every couple days i give it a try at manually shifting, but im no better now than i was 4 years ago.

1-2 upshift is markedly slower w/manual mode than in full auto.

I want to say I'll get to 30mph quicker in first than a similar clk using automatic...
and I would even venture to say my 0-60time (reaching 60 in second gear) is def quicker...

I can't see how you'd get to 30 faster, because in either case the car will start in first gear, regardless of whether you put it there manually or just punch it off the line....

As to the 1-2 shift; maybe yours is different. On mine, the time it takes the car to shift between gears at redline is very definitely slower in manual mode, by which I mean there is a noticeable hesititation before shifting, whereas in full auto the shifts are seamless.

This does not happen in 2-3 shifts or 3-4 using manual, but the 1-2 is a dog in this mode.

Anyway, I've timed it w/GTECH at 4.7 (best ever) to 4.8-4.9 (average) 0-60, and the times I tried it in manual mode it was more like 5.2 or worse, so I didn't try it for long.
