DMS remap

Guys, this is specifically aimed at the UK members. Have any of you or your friends had their (209)clk55's ECU remapped by a company called DMS automotive. They claim to be able to increase the power output to about 400bhp and 400 ft/lbs of torque (just by remapping the ECU) which is about a 10% increase. the cost is about £1000 and they will come to you and do the remapping. Any experiences/recommendations or otherwise will be much appreciated. To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Funny you should say that, after seeing an advert of theirs in Evo magazine I E-mailed them on Monday about "derestricting" my CL65, and quoted me £1900 for another 50bhp / 80lbft claiming it's undetectable to Merc diagnostics..

Seems a bit steep for a "flash of the EEPROM".. but I guess it's a sellers market.

I don't understand how it'd be undetectable by Mercedes.. I mean, if DMS can detect it.. then why not Merc. If the engine went bang I'd imagine that's the first thing Merc would go looking for...

I'd be interested to know what's involved in this mod.. IIRC the Renntech conversions recommend a rolling road session to go along with it.

Sorry I can't be much help, but do post your findings if you do find someone who's had it done

just don't try something that looks like a scam or a bogus. b/c it is most likely what you think it is. Go with a reputable tuning company.

I believe (from what I read) that they are a very reputable company with a good track record.
